ABOUT

Norman Arnold is a composer, creative director, and music producer based in Los Angeles. Over a 20-year career, he has scored award-winning documentary films — including the Emmy Award-winning Orchard House (PBS) — and composed music for more than 200 television series, accumulating over 33,000 ASCAP-verified broadcast episodes.

His documentary work includes The New Americans (PBS/Kartemquin Films, dir. Steve James), which won the IDA Best Limited Series Award and Gold Hugo at the Chicago International Television Competition; The War Tapes (Tribeca Film Festival Best Documentary, 2006); Hard Earned (Al Jazeera America/Kartemquin Films), winner of the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award; and Orchard House (PBS), winner of the New England Emmy Award for Outstanding Historical/Cultural Program.

He served as Senior Creative Director of Music at Warner Bros. Television/Telepictures Music overseeing music for marquee programs including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, TMZ, Extra, and Carpool Karaoke. Variety profiled Arnold alongside Hans Zimmer and Jonathan Wolff in a feature on composers redefining music production through digital technology.

Through AMI Music Group, his Los Angeles-based production company, Arnold continues to create original scores, custom music, and sonic branding for leading organizations including Meta, Apple, Warner Bros., and NBCUniversal. Recent work includes serving as Audio Director on Murder in the Mountain, an interactive experience for Meta Quest.
